About Me

Hi! Welcome on Nippon Guide!

My name is David, I’m a French guide-interpreter based in Kyoto.
I’ve been living in Japan for more than 7 years now moving from one city to another. I finally decided to settle down in Kyoto a few years ago and haven’t moved since then.

After studying Japanese language, culture and history as my major at a french university, I participated in an exchange program at Kyushu University in Fukuoka to further improve my knowledge of Japan. After graduation, I’ve moved to a few cities in various prefectures and worked for various companies in the tourism industry ranging for hotel management to japense culture experience instructor.

After traveling with a friend for the first time in Japan, I realized how impactful knowledge about japanese culture, language or history can be on someone travel experience. I since made it my personal goal to become a professional guide to improve foreign visitors’ travel experience.

I finally completed my professional training and obtained my guide-interpreter licence (French & English) and I am now offering my services to you.
Embark with me on a journey across Kyoto and its surroundings and deepen your knowledge about japanese culture.

See you soon!
